The work of the UK and Ireland desk at UNRIC:
We are responsible for the United Nations Department of Public Information communication strategy in the UK and Ireland.
We aim to raise awareness of the work of the UN through events and campaigns with partners in civil society, the media and governmental and other institutions.
We are also here to answer your questions on the UN and to refer you, where possible, to the relevant person or department if we cannot help.
We contribute to national and regional initiatives such as our campaigns to End Poverty, Say No to Violence against Women, and Water is Life poster competition.
And, finally we are responsible for UNRIC’s very successful outreach initiative called Cine-ONU, where we screen films on global issues followed by a discussion with the film director and/or experts on the subject raised in the film.
