Rio+20: The Future we want http://www.un.org/en/sustainablefuture/ http://www.futurewewant.org/
The Future We Want (FWW) is a global initiative to envision what we want our lives and communities to be like 20 years from now.
The new campaign is designed to promote next June’s Rio+20 conference and the need for sustainable development by engaging people in a global conversation on. The campaign, Rio+20: The Future We Want, will work through public participation to envision how societies in all parts of the world can build a future that promotes prosperity and improves people’s quality of life without further degrading our planet’s natural environment.
The Future We Want: Drop by Drop http://www.dropbydrop.eu
The United Nations are asking Europeans to create a newspaper ad that inspires others to preserve water, now and for future generations.
The competition is part of 'The Future We Want', the UN's global campaign leading up to the Rio+20 Conference. Deadline for submissions is 29 February 2012
The 1billion hungry project http://www.endinghunger.org/en/motivate.html
A hungry person is weak. Tired. Unable to concentrate, study or work. Hunger leads to illness. The body starts to feed on itself, eventually leading to starvation and death.
There's a growing movement of people who are outraged by the situation. What about you?
The objectives? A critical mass of people who no longer accept the presence of one billion fellow human beings living in chronic hunger. To make a lot of noise about the problem. To build up political pressure for change.
End poverty 2015 - UN Millennium Development Goals http://www.endpoverty2015.org/
The MDGs are an eight-point road map with measurable targets and clear deadlines for improving the lives of the world's poorest people. World leaders have agreed to achieve the MDGs by 2015.
It’s up to us to make sure leaders follow through on their commitments. The "United Nations Millennium Campaign" supports and inspires people from around the world to take action in support of the Millennium Development Goals. Join the Campaign and be part of the generation that puts an end to poverty.
